Please join us for a wonderful evening of ecstatic dance and song!! Allaudin will be leading Zikr once again at the Heart Centre – the last time he came in September 2016 this was a very well attended evening. This will be the first event in his 2019 visit to the UK and France – don’t miss it!

Allaudin is a superb leader of this spiritual practice of remembrance, being both a great musician and an open-hearted Sufi.

Cost for this evening is £10. Please bring the correct change if possible, and place your money in the bowl as you arrive.

We will start promptly at 7.30 pm, in our comfortable and beautiful space at The Heart Centre, off Dean House Lane, Luddenden HX2 6RF. There will be time at the end for a cup of tea, snacks and a chat if you wish.

If you have never been before please phone or email to find out directions.

Murshid Allaudin Ottinger originates from Kansas City, Missouri. He is an internationally renowned leader of the Dances of Universal Peace and has facilitated camps, seminars and retreats around the world since 1979. As a senior Dance mentor and teacher in the Sufi Ruhaniat International, “His exceptional musicianship, creativity and spontaneity are the seeds of ecstatic experiences of the transformational, healing power of the sacred arts.” As well as being a consummate drummer, Allaudin has brought through many wonderful Zikrs and Dances, and brings with him a great quality of heart.

Zikr means remembrance. This Sufi practice invites us to remember our original and underlying state of unity with All-That-Is. Using body prayers – simple, gentle yet powerful movements – combined with chanting in Arabic, most commonly the Zikr phrase La illaha illa’llah (which could be translated ‘the only reality is Unity’, or ‘there is nothing except the One’), we celebrate Unity. Moving, chanting and breathing in rhythm together we begin to harmonise ourselves as individuals and as a group. Our bodies and hearts can realign with the rhythm of our souls. The result can be wonderful: we may experience sensations of devotion, peace and joy, heart-opening connections with others and a sense of oneness with all-that-is.
