WALKING WITH THE ANCESTORS

A weekend Retreat at Poulstone Court, Kings Caple, Herefordshire, HR1 4UA
Friday – Sunday April 26th – 28th
With Shafia Stevens

In the Māori tradition the Ancestors or Tupuna play an important role in daily life, protocols and rituals They are known and honoured and their presence and wisdom invoked. In this weekend we will explore our connection to our own ancestors through story, song, dance and ritual.

Haere Mai – Come and be welcome – Haere Mai

About Shafia: Shafia was born in Aotearoa, New Zealand but lived in the UK from age three to fifty. She discovered the Dances in 1990 and seeded them in Wales where she lived. In the year 2000 she heard the call of her Ancestors telling her to go home. She responded and was soon called by the dance community there to facilitate training events. Over eleven years she ran three 3-year trainings whilst also delving into her Maori roots. From these two blessing streams emerged dances encapsulating Maori wisdom gems…pto experienced through the lens of the Dances of Universal Peace. Now a senior mentor Shafia has shared this work internationally in Ireland, Australia, Germany, Czech Republic and Russia.
This retreat will be a rare opportunity to experience the profound power of ancestral connection which comes out of this work and should not be missed.
