Leader details:

Come and join us for a weekend of Dances of Universal Peace, focusing on the Sufi & Buddhist paths.
Even at first glance, Rumi’s Seven Advices and the Buddhist Four Immeasurables make a match and meet in our unconditionality and equanimity.
In this weekend, the Buddha and Rumi join hands to help us realize that learning about your deeper motivations can help
you to learn about yourself and to also help others.
Wali & Ariënne are musicians and Dutch Sufi teachers with a keen interest in Buddhism.

For their Buddhist attunement, they follow Murshid SAM, who was both a Sufi and Zen Master and the Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hanh. They regularly hold dance meetings in his monastery and European school EIAB in Germany, close to where they live. On their 2016 CD ‘Send us the Peace’, you can hear some results of this attunement.
In their presentation, they combine power with beauty, depth with light, joy with energy, clarity and focus with gentleness.
Their co-leading merges male with female energies.
Ariënne and Wali’s dance leading style is very relaxed and yet deep.

Wali plays a twelve-string guitar to accompany the dances. Ariënne often plays alto recorder too. Their harmonies have to be heard to be believed! Between them, they have created many Dances of Universal Peace.

Ariënne makes learning new dances easy, as her way of explaining each dance is very clear. Together, they encourage the dancers to just let go and have a wonderful dance experience.
