A life-affirming online evening with chants, body prayer and meditation

Our theme is
ARUNACHALA, RAMANA MAHARSHI AND THE PATH OF SELF KNOWLEDGE.
In Universal Sufism we are encouraged to tune in to illuminated souls because that bridge of sympathy and alignment can transcend barriers and allow us to receive blessings and be transformed in a direct and unspoken way. Ramana Maharshi is one such being who I (Karim) have been strongly drawn to since I first saw a picture of him in which his gaze shows his complete absorption in the Divine. Ramana had his ashram at Arunachala a red hill in southern India which is a Shiva holy place and many people, of a variety of faiths, were drawn to visit him because of his deep realisation and presence. Since singing a wonderful Bhajan ‘Om Arunachala Om’ I have felt strongly drawn to visit the ashram there and then discovered that several people I knew regularly went there. One of those is Anja who has been a member of our Sufi Garden group for some time. So for this evening we will collaborate to bring you, through song, dance, stories, readings, prayer and meditation a flavour of Arunachala and Ramana Maharshi.
Alan will be taking a break so won’t be with us this time but will return in Nov
Karim Hadden is a highly experienced leader of devotional chants and Dances of Universal Peace. He has followed the path of Universal Sufism for many years, and works as a craniosacral therapist.
