Pat Halima Gibson

It is with great sadness that we announce the death in early September of Pat Halima Gibson from Wray in Lancashire. Our beloved dance and sufi sister died peacefully a few days after she had been admitted to hospital following a cerebral haemorrhage.

Pat was well known to those of us who danced regularly with Philip O’ Donohoe at his Sufi weekends in Kendal and at many other dance and Sufi events. She was an amazing and multi-talented woman with a great love of life and we shall miss her.

Philip said this about Pat Halima, in an e-mail:-

“We all have our own particular memories of Halima but I will always remember her great generosity, her love of life and the way she lived it to the full, for her humour, for her unfailing positivity, for her devotion to the sufi path, for her astuteness and success in business and her never ending delight in exploring new things. Halima was just about to embark on a M.Sc. in Consciousness, and the final connections I had with Halima were to provide a reference for this degree.”
