This is an invitation to our annual Easter-tide celebration of the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic. It is always one of our most popular events, and has become a very special tradition for me, over many years now. I do hope you will join us once again, or for the first time!
I have included the words in Aramaic and a translation by Neil Douglas-Klotz (Prayers of the Cosmos), in case you are interested to study them in advance. However, no prior knowledge will be assumed and everything will be taught on the day.

The Danced Aramaic Prayer Cycle presents a spiritual journey into the timeless wisdom of Jesus. It uses words attributed to Jesus in the Aramaic language and can allow one to experience this Prayer in an entirely new way. Through heart-centred body prayer and simple devotional singing the Prayer offers us the opportunity to tune ourselves to the Infinite Source of All Life, and helps us to remember how to live fully and intentionally in this awareness. It is a celebration of the Unity of Life and an affirmation of our own unique place in this Unity.
The movements and melodies of the Aramaic Prayer Cycle are the work of Neil Douglas-Klotz whose translations and meditations on the Aramaic words of Jesus appear in his highly acclaimed book Prayers of the Cosmos.
Many people confirm that the experience of singing and dancing the Prayer in Aramaic has profound effects on them; bringing renewed focus and awareness to their daily life. No previous experience is necessary. All the words and movements will be taught clearly and simply, and most people assimilate them with ease.
Jilani is a musician and a certified leader (and mentor) of the Dances of Universal Peace. She has led the Dances since 2005, and since studying for over two years with Neil Douglas-Klotz, she has shared the Aramaic Prayer in many different contexts in the UK and abroad, particularly in France and Spain, where she is much in demand as a teacher. She effortlessly creates a safe and held space where people can feel confident. Her relaxed and patient teaching style means people easily learn the words, chants and movements. Then together we can enter the profound and healing depths of the Dance experience, a journey into Unity, Beauty and even Bliss. It is with great pleasure that she offers this day so close to home. Easter Saturday is a wonderful and powerful day to dance the Aramaic Prayer, and this has become a regular annual event over the last few years.

1. Abwoon d’bwashmaya
O Birther! Father-Mother of the Cosmos/ you create all that moves in light Countermelody: Allaha Allah Elohim Elat)
2. Nethqadash shmakh
Focus your light within us-make it useful: as the rays of a beacon show the way.
3. Teytey malkuthakh
Create your reign of unity now–through our fiery hearts and willing hands.
4. Nehwey tzevyanach aykanna d’bwashmaya aph b’arha.
Your one desire then acts with ours, as in all light, so in all forms.

5. Hawvlan lachma d’sunqanan yaomana
Grant what we need each day in bread and insight: subsistence for the call of growing life.
6. Washboqlan khaubayn (wakhtahayn) aykana daph khnan shbwoqan l’khayyabayn.
Loose the cords of mistakes binding us, as we release the strands we hold of others’ guilt.
7. Wela tahlan l’nesyuna Don’t let us enter forgetfulness
8. Ela patzan min bisha. But free us from unripeness
9. Metol dilakhie malkutha wahayla wateshbukhta l’ahlam almin. From you is born all ruling will, the power and the life to do, the song that beautifies all, from age to age it renews.
