Dance Leaders and Mentors

Dance leaders are either 'Mentored Leaders' or 'Certified Leaders'. You can read about what this means here.

Mentors

There are four categories of Mentor (see right-hand side of this page for details):
  • Mentor-in-Training
  • Mentor I
  • Senior Mentor II
  • Senior Mentor III

(Mentors are also Dance Leaders as well, of course!)

Log in to the Teachers' Pages

If you are a Dance Leader or an Events Organiser and would like to add your details, to create a personal profile about yourself (which can include a photo), please log into the Teachers Pages and enter your details in the database by clicking on the "Edit Your Profile" button.

If you add a new photo to your profile, (or update an existing one) then your new photo can then be included on this page, too - but please note that you would need to Chris Granger, to say that you have added the new photo, in order for this to happen.

Mentor Levels

A Certified Leader can begin training to Mentor others, and so becomes a Mentor-in -Training, eventually reaching acceptance as a Mentor I.

Mentor I

The Mentor I is the first level of full mentorship. The Mentor I will continue to deepen in the path of mastery (through study and practice in the Elements of Mastery), expand their leading of Dances and Walks and mentoring of other dance leaders, and broaden their work in service to the lineage stream. The Mentor I steps into a recognizable path of service to the Dance and Walks transmission.

Senior Mentor II

The Senior Mentor II continues to develop in the Elements of Mastery and the further extension of heart quality, especially by way of the Walking Meditations. Even greater emphasis is placed on one's ability to present with appropriate presence, magnetism and balance. Mentors at this level will be engaged in creative work, outreach, and service with the Dances and Walks. The Senior Mentor II may also be involved in directing and organizing training retreats and events in new geographical areas and/or with special interest populations.

Mentors at this level have mentored a number of students, some who may have gone on to become mentors themselves. The Senior Mentor II has been recognized, in large part, on the basis of the quality of leadership of their own mentees. Mentors at this level are extensively involved in the training activity of the Mentor Teachers Guild and in upholding the lineage of the Dances.

Senior Mentor III

A Senior Mentor III has deepened in the Elements of Mastery and has the ability to lead advanced Walking Meditations including Tasawwuri Walks (attunement to sacred persons/ beings), advanced Planetary Walks (walking aspects, charts and signs) and advanced Element Walks (combinations, cardinal, fixed and mutable).

Mentors at this level have made a life-long commitment to the development of the Dances and Walks. They have become channels for the Spirit of Guidance to meet the needs and possibilities of the human spirit. The Senior Mentor III takes full responsibility for protecting and nurturing the lineage of the Dances and Walks. Their embrace includes all mentored dance leaders and the entire Mentor Teachers Guild.
